IYDU elected a new Executive after a successful Council Meeting in Rio de Janeiro. A few achievements from #IYDUrio include a newly elected board, adding seven new member organizations, and outlining our goals for 2015-2016. Most notably, we will shortly be announcing upcoming events covering the next six months – needless to say we will be busy.
In the coming weeks, the new board will present their broad ranging plans during these events, through newsletters, on our website, and on social media.
The new IYDU Executive consists of Chairman: Jason Emert, YRNF (USA), Deputy Chairman: Bruno Kazuhiro, Juventude Democratas (Brazil), Secretary General: Kai Jorgensen, YRNF (USA), previously Høyre (Norway), and Treasurer: Simon Breheny, Young Liberal Movement (Australia).
The new Vice-Chairmen are: Norman Blevins, Junge Union Bayern (Germany), Luke Springthorpe, Conservative Future (UK), Gintarė Narkevičiūtė, TS-LKD (Lithuania), Fernando Bautista, Juventud de ARENA (El Salvador), Carolina McCallock, Partido Popular Cristiano (Peru), Omar Abassi, Istiqlal Youth (Morocco), Sammy Awuku, New Patriotic Party Youth Branch (Ghana), and Robert Morgan, JLP (Jamaica).
The board consists of new representatives and former officers of the 2014 board, making this an excellent transition of knowledge between the two.
We’ll follow up with a closer presentation of our new board, IYDU’s new member organizations, co-opts and ad-hoc groups. Also be sure to watch for plans and events scheduled in the next term.
We look forward to working together, for greater freedom and less government.
Jason F. Emert, Chairman
Kai Jorgensen, Secretary General
